Once again the choir, under the baton of Jan Rautio, our accompanist and Deputy Music Director, provided a 20 minute selection of traditional music, including Lullay My Liking , I Love My Love and There Was a Tree, by Holst as well as The Shepherd’s Cradle Song and Willcock’s version of Deck the Hall, within the RSBC’s Christmas concert. We also helped lead the audience carols. The Esterhazies were privileged to perform in front of a host of celebrities, including Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Alan Bennett and Jon Culshaw, who had brought them, as well as several more, with him. The whole concert was a very varied show, with performances from professionals, Kyra Vidal, singer and Giles Abbott, storyteller as well as from some talented RSBC musicians. It was a moving and enjoyable evening, and the choir rose to the occasion.
